Vegetation

Adding vegetation to a scene is important, but there are some considerations to keep in mind when creating a 3D model for VR and Web viewing. The number of vertices is a limit to consider: the more vertices we have in the scene, the larger the file size and the greater the risk of loading problems and slowdowns during playback. Vegetation is one of the heaviest elements in a 3D scene, so we recommend using models with as few details as possible and preferring models where, for example, leaves are not modeled individually, but 2D cards are used instead.

There is no minimum or maximum number of vertices for a single object, as it depends on the number of objects present in the scene. For example, we can have a single object composed of 4K vertices or 8 objects with 500 vertices each. However, we recommend not exceeding 50K vertices in total to ensure smooth navigation.

Below, we present an example of High poly and Low poly vegetation models for visual comparison.
