Texture optimization

Updated on 12 Mar 2023

To improve the loading speed and performance of your model, it's important to optimize the textures. Uploading files with smaller dimensions will allow you to free up space for other projects and improve the web and VR experience.

Formats and dimensions:

Formats: .jpg, .png
Recommended: 1024px x 1024px and a maximum of 8 textures per file.
Maximum: 1024px x 1024 px, up to 16 textures, or 2048px x 2048px, maximum of 4 textures per file.

To optimize your textures, you can use free software or online tools such as Tinypng.

My model was uploaded, but the textures are missing. How can I fix this problem?

The solution is simple! You will simply need to compress the file again to merge the textures with the model. Here's what to do:

Select your model in a supported format (.obj, .fbx, .glb, .gltf) and the corresponding textures in your files.

1. Right-click on the model and selected textures.
2. Compress the file into a new archive, making sure it's in a format compatible with our platform.
3. This way, your model with its corresponding textures will be ready to be uploaded and displayed correctly.
